Nothing says summer like a bright yellow,
anything but subtle, sunflower. How could they not attract your
attention? They grow quickly defy gravity with a thin stalk holding
up a large flower, not to mention the already mentioned colour.
Fresh off the plane for my first summer in Eastern Ontario in nine
years, I, like numerous honeybees, was drawn to this particular
flower. I wanted to capture the size and dominance of the flower,
but leave a little of the environment in the frame too. I used some
borrowed closeup filters to get in extremely close to the flower,
and my 24mm lens to help keep some degree of recognizable shape
and form to the background. A simple photo of a simple subject.
The composition of this photo lends itself favourably to being
used as a postcard or a greeting card. Custom wording and sizing
options are available. Please contact me
